Latin Americans

All have formed part of the system of instruction, our parents and our grandparents. Even when you have a unfavorable opinion regarding the school, even though many parents know their children are unhappy, is accepted since it is the way of instructed, always has been and always will be. The system has a legitimacy based on tradition, which once enjoyed the royalty in many countries. Likewise, societies, especially Latin Americans, for historical reasons have paternalistic traits. This translates into expected the State to solve many of the problems faced by its citizens, problems that often have solution through individual effort. This can be seen to deliver the results of tests taken at the national level by measuring the quality of instruction. If yields are low, is blamed for the political authorities; It is argued a lack of concern, investment or ideas. In the second instance are blamed for schools or teachers.

But if students consider that the statement delivered by the schools is important and to get low performance is not acceptable, first thing you should do is a self-criticism. Why should be allowed the students to determine autonomously What education do they want? For what, if the State can determine what is best for them. It is difficult to break this mentality. The first that everything because, in terms of effort, it is easier to let others take care of one who make decisions on the own well-being, especially regarding the issue of education. And second by the belief that the State is an entity that knows what is best for others, when in fact this is an organization with limitations that do not have enough empathy to provide what they have defined that they require. That is why that individual initiative in many respects, including in knowledge and skills, learning is required since these are tools that allow you to fulfill the purpose of life established by each person. Then, with all these limitations that affect not only the students, if not more important even to adults and to the society as a whole, how can children and young people to learn in freedom be achieved? In question is difficult to answer.
